Election Integrity

     Public confidence in the integrity of elections is essential to the survival of our Republic. It is our faith in election integrity that legitimizes our representative democracy. False charges of election fraud can undermine that faith. In the 68th legislative session, I voted for several bills that were signed into law that strengthened election integrity. Although more can be done to improve the security and integrity of our elections, the hand counting of ballots is not one of them.
